If you have some previous experience playing poker, it won't take long to get the hang of video poker. The video version of this game is played in much the same way as the card version.
Put coins in the machine to place your bet. The wager has to be made before you are given any cards. And once the game begins, you cannot change your bets.
Push the "Draw/Deal" button after making your bet. This will deal your first hand of five cards.
Now you can choose if you want to hold onto any of the cards in your hand. Push the "Hold/Cancel" button under the card, or cards, you want to keep. If you change your mind about wanting to keep a previously held card, push the "Hold/Cancel" button again to cancel the hold.
Be sure there is conformation on the screen telling you that you're holding all the cards you want. The word "hold" will flash under the cards you have selected.
Push the Draw/Deal button again to get new cards for those you didn't hold.
The machine will pay off if you have a winning hand. Then it's reset for another game.
Please remember, the cards won't normally be in order when they're shown on screen. Most video poker games won't let you know about a hand/potential hand until after the game.
