Royal Flush - An Ace, King, Queen, Jack and 10 of the same suit. This is the highest hand in poker.

Straight Flush - This is the second best hand in the game. It's made up of five cards, in order, of the same suit. Aces can usually be counted as the lowest card in the order. For example… Ace, 2, 3, 4, and a 5 is a group of five ordered cards.

Four of a Kind - This hand is made up of one odd card and four cards of the same value. For example… 3, Q, Q, Q, Q.

Full House - This happens when you have three cards of one rank and two of another. For example… J, J, J, 5, 5 or 6, 6, 6, 3, 3.

Flush - For a flush, all five cards in a hand are the same suit. For example, a 4 of Clubs, a 5 of Clubs, 7 of Clubs, Queen of Clubs and Ace of Clubs make a flush.

Straight - A straight is made up of five cards in order, but not of the same suit. For example… an Ace of Diamonds, 2 of Clubs, 3 of Hearts, 4 of Clubs and 5 of Spades.

Three of a Kind - For three of a kind, you have to be holding three cards of the same value and two odd cards, such as 8, 8, 8, A and 2.

Two Pair - For this hand, you need two cards of the same value or rank. You have two pair when your hand has two pair plus an odd card. For example… 6, 6, 7, 7, 2.

One Pair (Jacks or better) - In video poker, you only win a pay off for pairs of jacks, queens, kings or aces.
